Power BI Pro – Incremental Refresh

Big news!!! Microsoft has listened to the Power BI Pro users and has implemented incremental Refresh. Now, you do not have to have Premium in order to use this feature.

Here is Christian Wade’s Microsoft blog – https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/incremental-refresh-is-generally-available/
What is incremental refresh? Well, it means you can refresh large tables in a Power BI data model faster and reduced used resources. This is usually accomplished in a Fact table with a date or date integer surrogate key.

If your data is never updated in a fact table, then incremental refresh will help just refresh the most current data in your fact table in the Power BI model. Thus, you do not have to implement a full refresh on the model when new data arrives.
